Hi all,
Bear in mind that if you go from Paris to Amsterdam, you have to go through Belgium, so that would be 2 extra countries to add. IOn addition, the direct Paris - Amsterdam trains are thalys TGV's which require an additional supplement ontop of passes. Avoiding TGV's is possible, but takes a few hours longer and involves at least a couple of changes.
Eurolines tend to be the best of the coach companies. Pay particular to special offers, as there tend to be quite a few along this corridor, but direct buses tend to take about 8 hours, or you can arrange to stop over/change In Bruxelles

You may need to use the French or Dutch pages to get the best of the offers.
If you go by train and buy as you go, cheapest will be use your pass as far as Lille (or even Tourcoing, although slightly more fiddly) and buy tickets there. Cheapest is with 1 change in Antwerpen, and say no to TGV and Thalys services which are more expensive

If you have any suggestions for booking a bus from Paris to Amsterdam I would appreciate it. I'm in Canada at the moment but would like to roughly know what this will cost me.
Actually, belgium and the nederlands are considered as one country on the pass, Benelux. So you wont have to add 2 countries.
Gelli is right about Eurolines, they are basically your only ticket in terms of going from Paris to Amsterdam by bus. The train will take you about 3 hours and the ticket ranges from 50/70 euros if I recall from Thalys. I don't know how much it costs to add zones or what the case is with that, but I'm sure it's a beautiful trainride over through the north of france, then belgium and holland. I would recommend the bus however because I think it was like 30 Euros or possible even less and it took only 8 hours. We caught a 9:00 AM bus from Paris and slept a bit on it, then we were in Amsterdam at 5:00 it was great. The bus stops twice at a rest stop for a cleaner bathroom and some snacks, AND the bus drives right through downtown Brussels to make a stop, which was really nice.
All in all, take the bus, it's only a few more hours and it will cost you less than half. Or you could hitchike! Oh, and make sure you have your passport because Dutch police stopped our bus at the border and one girl had a serious problem cause she didn't have her passport.

the offers keep changing so it is difficult to advise the fare. but i am very sure that you will get the best deal with eurolines. the coaches are clean and its takes about 8 hours one way.
i took an overnite coach from paris to amsterdam and it was approx 42euros. on the way back, it was cheaper... 4 euros till brussels and another 23euros till paris.

Hi,
I am staying in European countries (Finland) for more than 6 months while my friend, with whom I am traveling, has come to Europe recently.
1. Can we both catch the same train for travel from Paris to Amsterdam?
Read some things about country of residence on Eurail & Interrail websites, hence the doubt.
2. This is the only train travel in our plan. Should we buy any pass or we can directly buy the ticket?
3. The price shown on www.thalys.be is the total ticket price or that is fare for those having pass?
Hi!
I realize this thread ended a while ago, but I am trying to book a euroline bus for paris to brussels and having serious issues with the website. For one, the form you fill out is all in French....I think I did that fine though. The problem is it keeps denying all my credit cards and I have been using them ever since I arrived abroad so it doesn't make sense! I really need to book this and they don't have a contact number did anyone else have this problem??!!
thanks!
