I wouldn't be too nervous about curling up in an Afghan for 6 months neither. Just kidding.
Don't worry about going to Thailand. As I'm sure you've read in this website time and time again - there are literally tens of thousands of backpackers roaming around Southeast Asia. Many of them are solo, most are figuring it out as they go along, and very few ever run into any problems.
You'll be fine, and especially after 6 months of living there you will realise how easy it is to get around.
Hiya, thanks for the reply. Im sure all will be fine. I have no set plan after working and am in northern thailand for the first 6 mths (Ayutthaya) so will probs travel around there for a bit then head south. Everyones talking about the full moon parties so I guess ill head to one of those at some point. Theres so much I dont want to miss, I dont know where to start.
All i can say that you really have a good choice where to travel food and places are not problem just avoid bad people that surely have in any kind of country.
