I am planning a trip through Southeast Asia and to Nepal and India. I am most likely traveling alone and on a pretty tight budget. I am a young, small woman and since I am no where near fluent in the languages I will be immersed in, I was hoping someone could give me advice for safe independent travel that is also affordable.
I have friends in Phnom Penh that help orphans and poor families with: food, shelter, schooling, medical, etc. They can always use another volunteer. No fees involved. If this something you might want to pursue, send me a PM.
learned something valuable on that trip about traveling solo: A camera is a good prop. As a somewhat shy person, my first line of defense is to reach for a book.
