Finally bit the bullet and have decided for a short travel around North America next year instead of the good old ‘lads holiday’ to Ibiza or Ayia Napa.
This September i'm flying from heathrow to nyc to Washington to san fran then having a road trip to Yosemite park, Utah, grand can and LA. I would recommend you try and do your travelling by plane otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time travelling and less of the doing. Travel Nation is a good company for sorting out flight etc. I can let you know how much it will cost once ive been lol
Going all that way to see LA??? As a former LA resident, I can tell you you're headed to the wrong city in California. Why are you Brits so in love with LA? Do you really think you'll see a celebrity walking around?
(should have said "driving around" - no one walks in that town!)

I have to agree with Daawgon, I would visit San Diego over LA.
Miami nightlife is expensive, but there is quite a lot of it.
Thanks very much for the responses/advice. Going all the way over to L.A does seem a little pointless. Having discussed it with a mate last night our plan is;
• Miami - 7 days
• Washington DC – 5 days
• New York – 5 days
• Boston – 5 days
We would fly between all of these places except New York to Boston. For the 3 weeks I think I would need around £2000 which would work out to be roughly $3060. Any idea if this would be enough for trips/nightlife (not planning on drinking every single night...)
Cheers for your help with this!
I would consider taking the train between Washington DC and New York. It's a simple commute--and it is one that has some country worth seeing along the way. Also, time-wise, it is almost the same amount of time when you consider how long you will spend at the airports.
The money you have in mind should cover it, although be aware that you need to avoid the "bottle service" at the clubs--which are a total "rip-off". They basically put you in a "VIP" section (you and about 50 others) and then charge you $200 for a bottle that would normally cost $30-40 tops".
As long as you avoid this and other similar scams, you will be fine. You've picked interesting places and a good time to go. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks very much for your help. I like the idea of taking the train so that is what i will probably do.
Ah dont worry they try that in the UK as well. Once again thanks very much!
Just get the Megabus from DC to New York. It will cost you anything between $1-$10 I would say. A lot cheaper.
Here is the website. Might be your cheapest option between NE cities.
