A bit nervous about my upcoming trip backpacking SEA alone.
Any Advice from other young backpackers who have done a similar trip alone?
I'll be staying on the regular "backpacker" tracks and staying in backpacker hostels while backpacking Thailand, Laos, and maybe Vietnam by myself over the course of 3 months.
I'm a 19 year old male turning 20 over sea's.
I'm a pretty outgoing guy and keen to meet new people.
Cheers
It's well worn routes with thousands of tourists about an any time and English often spoken. The only bug bear might be petty theft so be very careful of money and other valuables.
Have you sorted out your visas?
I have completed my Philippines visa, I was going to stay under the thirty days in Thailand and cross over to Laos, meaning I don't need one for Thailand, than purchase a visa when I enter Laos over the friendship bridge. I'm thinking I might save Vietnam for another trip. Since I'm not entirely positive when i would enter the country, making the visa purchase before I go a bit tricky.
Cheers

Hey Rhiane
i will be flying to Bangkok from the Philippines on the 11th of April 2014. Will you still be there at that time?
Hi Rhiane,
I'm also a solo traveller, and will be heading out to SE Asia on 27th October 2013. I'm starting in Cambodia and working way up to Laos. Do you have a route planned?
I agree with staying in Backpacker hostels- definitely a great way to meet fellow solo travellers.
