Malaysia Monsoon Thunderstorms

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been there that time of year and at worst usually it is some light showers and 30 minutes later there is no trace of water on the ground. That is why it's the high season, mostly dry weather.

If you want the rains, now is the time to be there, till October. It is the same rainy weather across much of Asia which is why there are so many "cheap" air tickets this time of year.

Like most of your posts, again you are wrong.
The main monsoon season for the eastern parts of the Peninsula and for (most of) Borneo is October/November till March and this is the heavies of the two monsoon season. The other 'dry' monsoon season, with much less rain and less spectacular thunderstorms is now (May-September) but it's only along the westcoast of the Peninsula and is not as spectacular for this type of 'tourism'.

Also, especially along the eastcoast of the Peninsula, the monsoon contains more than the 10-30 minute showers you mention. There might be days on end with heavy rain and more spectacular conditions. Also note that much of the island's economy shots down as well as some coastal areas of the region, regarding tourism and some transport etc.

Also regarding cheap tickets: that might be the case for September, but as it's high season in the Northern Hemisphere, 'cheap' tickets for July/August...don't think so mate!
