hay im looking at the end of next year and was wondering if any one could point me in the right direction im basicly just looking to find out what / where are the kinds of places i should be looking at to go in Canada. i haven't really started my research on it yet but would like a hand from people that already know any helpful hits and tips would be fantastic. thank you in advance.
It's extremely helpful with a question like this to give an indication of what type of activities you're looking for. You don't go to the same place for hiking as for clubbing.
Me, I loved Vancouver Island (both Victoria and (especially) the amazing old growth rainforest just south of Tofino), all the national parks in the Rockies (apart from the crowds), and (unsuspectedly) Kelowna.
Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City were okay as well.
Vancouver is a stunning city with lots to see and do, so definitely worth spending a few days. The Capilano suspension bridge is just out of of the city and is also worth a visit. Vancouver Island is beautiful so I'd recommend trying to get over there.
ah yes i do apologise, i really would be looking at seeing the county and its wilderness so things like hiking and rock climbing but also i cant say for sure what im after as i don't really know what to expect as like i said i haven't really started looking in to Canada yet but thank you for your comment that really dose give me a place to start.

Head to Calgary, then get a bus over to Banff. At this point you'll feel like you are still on the Japanese tourist tour as about half the signs will be in English and half in Japanese. From here, get a bus north up to Jasper to actually get into the real backwoods. Use this as a jumping off point for hiking the Canadian Rockies. There are lots of hiking trails in this area--all great ones. P.S. You can also do this by flying to Edmonton and then busing west to Jasper, but the trip is not nearly as scenic this way (although the cost of the bus would be less).
From here head west to Vancouver--and then do some hikes either near Vancouver or over on Vancouver Island (being sure to visit Victoria as mentioned above by Sander). Do be aware that you need to be careful when hiking the northern part of Vancouver and Vancouver Islands as grizzly bears (some up to 10 feet tall) are common in this part of the island--and we'd like you to come back from your experience alive and in one piece.
