Hey guys I'm a 22 year old student travelling solo to Australia from October to December and was hoping to work a bit in Brisbane, travel down the gold coast and finish the trip with Xmas and NYE in Sydney.
There is an Accommodation link at the top of the page. Most hostels are OK. You want somewhere neat public transport and if arriving late, 24 hour check -in. It would not hurt to be somewhere near the bay for the NYE firework celebration.
You are going the busiest time ofthe year, and so the most expensive. Places are already filling up so book very soon.
Im planning on being in Sydney for Christmas & NYE, I will have a campervan so will park in the city and camp like a pirate!

I'm staying at the yha at the rocks at the moment no problem meeting people at all it just depends how you are as a person more than the hostel itself i think. Let me tell you the location is amazing for the money if you can get in here for new years you should!
