Perth August 2013- Travelling alone

Hey i'm 23 from Manchester and flying over to Perth about August time. Going out for a few months to see my Dad in Rockingham, Perth then i'm wanting to travel the east coast for the rest of my visa. Wondering if anybody is going to Perth around that time? or flying from Manchester?
I'm a little nervous about travelling on my own and meeting people to go down the East coast

Hello Rebecca,
please dont be nervous! Its super easy too meet people and have a fantastic time!
You will certainly meet alot of fellow travellers same age. I've just since come back from travelling just over a month ago, all round Oz. I travelled most of the time on my own, but you can always find people who are wanting/doing the same thing as you.
The east coast is very touristy but going to the Whitsundays islands is something pretty special.
Darwin is beautiful also, depends what your after
Here's my blog if you wanna have a nose of my adventure

awww it looks really nice over there. Really looking forward to it, just wanted to know a few people before i went so i could possibly meet up with them. Think i might have to just go it alone and go with the flow

Thankyou x

Hi Rebecca,

I'm thinking of flying out to Perth at the beginning of August. going it alone as friends have other commitments.

Am nervous as hell! although friends / family who have been travelling have told me not to be.

have you checked out any of the buses that run down the coasts or anything?

Dom

Yeah i'm really nervous, think it will all work out when i'm there though hopefully.

where are you flying from?

I have looked at the greyhound buses but my friend said they're awful when he used them so i'm not too sure now.

Are you looking at doing some travelling there too?

Rebecca

Am going to fly from gatwick, I live in hampshire so easiest to go from.

am planning on being out in Oz for 2 months travelling around not really sure of definite plans out there yet. And then back home for my graduation in October and then back to Oz or maybe Fiji, bali or NZ (as you can probably tell I haven't got concrete plans).

Really? how was his experience awful? got to admit, shelling out 2K for an awful experience would probably put most people off.

Dom

Ahhh okay, I think i want to stay the full year maybe nip back for christmas then back out again.

I'm thinking of doing New Zeland after Aus as there are lots of teaching jobs there for me.

He just said that he was sat on buses for hours and hours and the people who caught them buses weren't the best kinds of people haa. Flights arent too much tho if your wanting to get about tbh. He loved the rest of his time there though doing the East Coast.

Rebecca

ahh right, fair enough. think you've got to get used to the waiting and how long it gets to go places.

I did new zealand two years ago. fantastic place.

if you want some tips about there we can talk about it over a beer or something in Perth.

Dom

Yeah Aus is a bit bigger than England ha.

ahhh cannot wait for NZ need to save some pennies first though!

Yes be nice to meet some one whos doing the same as me, Where abouts in Perth are you going to?

Rebecca

Haven't a clue yet.

Was told by a friend to start in Perth this time of year as it's a bit warmer, but to be fair, anywhere over there is warmer than the UK!

Really need to start cracking on what i'm going to do over there, but secretly hoping I can wing it for the time i'm there. haha.

what about you?

Dom
