Hey,
Research the internet for mean rainfalls for where you are staying.
Last tyme I was at BKK in the month os spetember , approx 2 yrs back. and the rain was okay not too wet though.
Infact in rains you may enjoy the city a bit more if and only if you love rains...
Just bring umbrella everything will be fine dont worry.
"I was just wondering if anyone had been there at that time or can describe the weather situation a bit further?"
Millions of tourists visit Thailand during the low season when you have a little more heat and more rain. Some tourists only visit during low season to save money and not be bothered by hordes of tourists you get closer to Christmas.
The rain amounts varies depending on where you are. Most of the time for some areas the rain stops in an hour or two and the sun returns. You may get no rain or little rain too. Some minor flooding if the rainfall overwhelms the drain system. Usually a minor problem to tourists. You can "feel" the rain coming in time to head home or go in a mall or restaurant, etc.
Read up on the Thai weather.
