Lost baggage?

When leaving Norfolk, VA I was given a US Airways yellow "EXPRESS VALET" tag. I was told by the flight attendant to leave my bag by the side of the plane. When I got off the plane at my connecting flight in Washington, I didn't see my bag (or anyone else's?) there, so I stupidly boarded the bus that was waiting outside of our plane, assuming that our baggage would be in the building that we arrived to. Since we had a choice of leaving the plane from front or back, I am thinking that perhaps baggage was on the opposite side and I didn't know?

Welcome to what passes for Customer Service at many airlines now.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

Have you got Property Irregularity Report? There must be your file reference number. With the help of that number you can see all information about your bag on the aircompany's website.

Since it was a carry on bag (which they annoyingly asked me to leave plane side), I don't think that I can get an irregularity report, right?

So far I've had no luck. I'm really disappointed in the lack of customer service with USAirways. I do have medication in the inside zipper of the bag, but it's behind some plastic bags filled with clothes. The medication has my name and address on it.

Any chance that they might thoroughly go through my bag one day and find it? It's kind of hidden.

I think your chances of recovering that bag are pretty poor. I really hope you're able to replace those meds asap?

Several years ago I worked at Lost&Found office in Kiev airport (Ukraine). I assure you that we accepted all passengers' reclamations even if they didn't have bag tags. There is an international system for baggage tracing, named World Tracer. There agents can trace your bag according to its description and content. Your bag most probably in your transfer airport, was it Washington? Make lost found agents look thoroughly through tagged off bags (it is called on-hand baggage).
I wish you good luck!
PS Sorry for my English! I know, it isn't good. I wish to improve it visiting forums and other foreign websites.

Thank you very much for the helpful replies! You were right, my bag was still in Washington. I received a call today that it was found. I'm so relieved!
