Travelling through China in March '10

Dear everyone,

Nobody can give me some advise?

Hi, that itinerary sounds very doable, just remember to allow for the travel time, Beijing to Pingyao is roughly 12 hours on an overnight train and the same again Pingyao to Xi'an, maybe a little bit more its also going to be a long journey from Luoyang to Shanghai. But it seems youve allowed plenty of time.
I would recommend that you allow for a couple of extra days in Xi'an, its a fantastic city and there is a hell of a lot to do there and in the surrounding area, lots of archeological sites if you like that kind of thing and theres the fountain and light show at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you dont get a lot for free in China but this show is free and its a great spectacle.

If you tire of cities and pollution then Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain) seems to be not entirely out of your reach, its a beautiful place and well worth spending a few days.

Its a shame your time is limited as youre missing out on the Beautiful South and South West of the country, but you should still have a good time.

some suggestions fro your trip to China:

If you have time, visit Dalain city..it is an hour's flight from Beijing. You will sure like it.

..Have your hotel name written in Chinese..No one will understand if you say your hotel name in English. This will help incase you forgot the route to return to your hotel.
...You can book your seats only 10days in advance.
..In some cities like Beijing and Shanghai, there are more than 1 train station. So know in advance where your train will depart so that you can avoid last minute confusion.

..If you want to ask someone for direction or assistance, approach younger people who can converse with you in English. or show them in writing as to what you want in a piece of paper.

...Keep coins of 1Yuan or 2yuan handy while travellng in city buses..The driver don't return any change and/or no facility.

happy travels.
