Hello,
Thinking about going myself mate.....
When u travelling??
Steve
getting to Thailand Dec 21st, was thnking about getting to Koh Phangan maybe the day befpre the party Dec 30th, but this isnt set in stone..
How bout you?
When you get to Koh Phan Ngan, make sure you go to Jumanjy bar in Thong Sala, and say hello to my mate Tristan from me. He has got lots lined up for the next few weeks, especially Hallowe'en. They know how to party down there, actually, you could check out his page on Facebook!!! He might even have some accommodation recommendations for you!!!
there are many hotels/hostels right in haadrin, which is exactly were you want to be for the full moon. I stayed in the Haadrin beach resort which is a little nicer but still cheap. You can also try the Tommy hotel and bungalows right on the beach as well. Those are a couple of places you can try in haadrin. My advise would be to get a room on the haadrin noi side it is not far from the full moon and when you want to get some sleep it is kinda far enough away to not here so much noise. Make sure you get your rooms well in advance though because if you dont there is a good chance most rooms will be booked.
Cheers
Aaron

Land in Bangkok on the 30th lol was going to fly straight down and party but have no idea as yet!! Might just book somewhere, do it and see what happens Like yourself, nothing set in stone, infact nothing set at all!!
How long you over there for?
For the NYE party, you should stay in Haad Rin where it is all going to happen. I was there 3 weeks ago and stayed in a pretty quiet, nice and decent bungalow for only 400 baht, Cozy Resort is the name of the place and it's only a 3-minute walk to the party scene. I suggest that if you are planning to stay there longer and wouldn't want to be in busy side of the island, you can always go up north to Haad Yao and find a lot of nice bungalows and/or resort type of accommodation for as low as 400 baht, Haad Yao Villas are new resort with swimming pool, or Silver Beach Bungalow.
Tip: There are a lot of accommodations in the island, it's best to go and look around the island to find a place that you suits you and your definition of a vacation! Don't fall for the all other places are full, you cannot find any other resort trick just to lure you into staying in their resort! Also, DON'T EVER GO TO A TRAVEL AGENT in Thailand! If you don't want to get ripped off, and stay in an old and ugly resort or get the worse travel experience! A travel book helps, a map and a bold, brave adventurous attitude! You'll meet a lot of travelers long the way!
Good Luck! Am open to any further inquiries!
Thanks for all the advise everyone, it all seemed pretty much fully booked everywhere that was recomended so i've ended up at the Seaview Thansadet which looks nice - if a little pricey.
Also do u need to buy a ticket in advance for the party or do you just turn up?
Sorry for all the questions this is all new to me
Just turn up! No tickets! You don't need to pay for anything.. though if you are going to use the main entrance to the beach party, they do charge 100 baht.. but if you can find another small street that will take you to the beach then better!
>> They are a lot of hotels there and guest houses, bungalows too.. You'll find a lot of places to stay once you arrive, it is not true that "all" would be booked on those dates or that it will be difficult to find a place...
ooh that sounds naughty.... but deffinately worth a shot! hehe
as for the accomodation ive already booked it at 2500THB but im gonna view it as an unexpected luxury rather than ' i just got ripped off' what the hay im gonna be in Thailand for NYE everything is all good
