Hey, just wondering if anyone had any tips. Im arriving in sydney in dec, all booked up the 4th jan. After that i have just under a month before planning to meet other people arriving in sydney (could change this and not meet them but would like to if i could). So was wondering where would be good to go. I dont want to rush anywhere and miss out on things and had planned to head to melbourne end of jan. I heard sydney was expensive so dont think i could last a month there unless i got a job which i know could be unlikely. Really just typing my thoughts so if anyone could help would be muchly appreciated!!
hi lorna
in jan for 2 weeks is the australian open tennis thats always fun to pass some time away.
The Christmas period is the dearest time of year. Why not hop on a bus and head north to Byron Bay!!!!
Oldie is right, Sydney around Christmas time can be very expensive for accomodation because it's school holidays and lots of people have time off work but it's like this most places.
Were you planning on doing things around Sydney when you meet your friends? I'm just wondering if you're going to double up on activities, it'd be worth seeing the Blue Mountains and having a look around the harbour while you're here. Catching the bus to Byron Bay would also be a good option
After rereading my post it wasnt totally clear, haha oops! Im doing oz intro on my first week so will have done blue mountains etc. My accommodation etc is all booked already for sydney up until 4th jan cos i want to be there for xmas and new year. Theres a group of people ive been speaking to online who are doing oz intro 25th jan and few of them are heading to melbourne and on to fruit picking which is what i want to do aswell which is why i was trying to think if there was a logical way to go around leaving sydney but being able to head back there end of jan. Will look into byron bay though, thanks! Im on a WHV which is why i dont want to rush places just so i can get back!!
