I am moving state and found someone who is willing to drive my other car across state for me, they will pay there own food and hotels and i will cover most gas, i looked at moving companies and cheapest i found was around $1000.
Well, for me, I've always paid to ship my car when I moved--or else drove it myself.
My major concern was always the criminal record of the person who I would trust my car to. In most US states, if drugs or alcohol are found in a car during a simple traffic stop, the car can be impounded--or in many cases, even confiscated and sold. The last thing I would want is to lose my car because some guy/gal I never even knew was driving the car and also had their drugs with them, or decided to drink their beer while driving along in some back-woods area.
The other concern I would have would be their driving record. If the guy/gal I was going to trust my car to already had multiple speeding tickets or accidents, then I would also be concerned about loaning them the car. After all, it is your insurance that will be protecting you against any damage they do if their insurance doesn't exist or is minimal.
Better safe than sorry in my view
