That sounds wicked, always wanted to do something like route 66, see the sights and hire a car and go at your own pace, never been able to go before friends no money or time issue.

I'm also looking at road tripping around July/August next year.
We really wanted to do a road trip starting in Chicago and following route 66 through to Nevada for Burning Man Festival if there is any interest?

Yeah that was my original plan to do route 66! Im open to any ideas like, I just really want to road trip as much of America as I can
