Can you help me to get the bulk uploader working with java 7 on a mac. This is a very important issue for me. Jonshapiro, vagabonding at 60
I can't help you, as I use neither Java nor a Mac, but it'd be much easier for the people who can help you to do so if they know exactly what symptom you're experiencing which you're describing as "not working". (This is true for all tech support issues. There's so many ways in which things can "not work" that it's an effectively meaningless phrase. Always be as detailed as possible when describing a problem to people who can't see your screen and probably aren't experiencing your issue themselves.)
When you visit the page with the bulk uploader, do you get an error message? (As a popup? Inside the box where the uploader usually shows?) What does the error message say exactly? Or does the uploader just not appear? Or does it appear, but refuse to show the files you want to upload? Or can you pick the files, but does the upload step fail? Or...?
Also, on which browser is this? (I know Firefox did an update last week which disabled all versions of Java as insecure (which you can override on a per-website basis), and then disabled that again, but only for the absolute very latest version of Java).

The latest version of Java has unfortunately broken the uploader. The company who develops the uploader software have a patch which I'll try to get installed as soon as possible.
As I said in email, thanks for the info. I was ready to blame Apple. The browser I use, by the way, is Safari since Chrome doesn't work with uploader. No error message. The uploader doesn't appear. Let me know when you have a fix. jon

Hi Jon, I've run the update and tested in my Safari using Java 7.45 which is the latest and it works now. I'm not on Mavericks yet though. I don't think that should make any difference.
With Chrome, I can't run Java applets either due to Java 7 only working on 64-bit browsers and Chrome being 32-bit. Not sure when Google will fix that problem. Doesn't seem to be a high priority for them
I need to eventually move away from Java for this process, but that's a bigger job and for another day.
I, too am having issues with the bulk uploader on my Mac. This is just a recent (last fortnight or so) issue. The uploader doesn't appear after giving permission for Java 7.45 to run. I am using Safari. A real inconvenience. Where can I get a "patch" so that I can continue to upload photos in bulk. Cheers

Hi Tiki Touring, the uploader is up to date with the latest patch which should have fixed any issues with Java 7.45. I'm not sure why it's not showing for you in this instance, unless Safari has updated how they handle it.
I'd suggest trying Firefox as a workaround if Safari is not playing ball.
