Us visa help

Hi,

I applied for my ETSA and got declined (naturally) as I had an arrest on my file thanks to an ex-partner hiding a certain green fingered factory I was unaware of when I first met him, wrong place, wrong time for a search warrant to be issued...(no record, I was just released, no further action). I obtained my police certificate and was about to go through the entire visa process when I thought I'd just email the CBP. As my police certificate stated 'no trace' ( I have no criminal record). They asked for my ID (Birth cert, driving licence, passport and the Police certificate) to be scanned and emailed. They then cleared me for travel on the ESTA I applied for. This is valid for two years but, I'm guessing I will have to do the same again should I wish to go back after 2015. SO, the best advice I can give is to obtain your police certificate and see what is on it, if anything. £45. Bit of a faff but, the first step to take and best to do it ASAP. Hope that helps.

The ESTA people won't help you as it is up to you what you declare on the application. Also, it costs an utter fortune to ring the embassy!
