I'd like to visit a floating market when I'm in Bangkok in a couple of weeks; I know they might be a little touristy but I'd quite like to see one as I've missed them on previous visits to the city. Can anyone suggest a good one? There seem to be a few when I search the internet. I'll be there on a Tuesday.
Any travel agent in the city, whether KSR or elsewhere will book you a trip.
It's mainly for photos and a look at life by the river. The actual market is some old ladies selling stuff you can buy cheaper elsewhere.
Damnoen Saduak is about 2 hours drive from Bangkok Town, more commercialised you will pass by the famous Maeklong Railway Market (Talad Rom Hub) Muang Samut Songkram
Amphawa Floating Market is more authentic.
Leave early ahead the crowd and heat. If you drive, you may cover 2 places, and is reachable by using google map
Floating market, Is it something like that in Venice.
