hey there im clare and im 24 iv just graduated from post grad and need to take a year out before i go crazy! im looking to travel starting Jan 2014 and afraid of going on my own il be meeting my friends in perth in march however i need to start travelling in Jan and im thinking of Thailand for a month and new Zealand for a month! any body looking to do the same thing or even any advice???

The trip sounds great. I would suggest not to worry about travelling on your own; meeting up with friends as you said, and hitting some popular backpacker destinations, you'll be sure to come across like-minded people on the road.
Do you have any plans yet for the rest of your year off? Or are you going to go with the flow and see where things take you?
You shouldnt worry at all! Australia and New zealand are so friendly to travelers, i have no doubt that you will fiend nice people (mght even happen on the flighht over) , hope you have fun!!!
