Have to decide between langkawi or vietnam. Wish to go to vuetnam but cant decide. Anybody been to both? We look for beuatiful views and sea

There're chance for Vietnam to being hit by raining season in January as the coastline facing south china seas, but I'm not fully sure about this. Langkawi can serve as alternative to southern Thai (Andaman) beaches and islands....

I've been to both places.
Langkawi has an amazing beach! It's truly beautiful there. However it's also pricey, and crowded with not so much to do. It suits best for couples who wants to relax.
Vietnam was a wonderful place. Cheap, kind people, lots of activities, beautiful nature. Though it really depends on where in Vietnam you want to go?

Hi, it's hard to compare Langkawi with Vietnam, a city (certain destination) and the whole country. Vietnam has a lot of beautiful beach, both pristine quiet beaches and popular beaches. It's up to your taste, if you prefer a quiet beach, nice local culture, easy going people, I think Vietnam is better.

Malaysia is pricey, Vietnam is not. Langkawi is beautiful, Vietnam has completely different beaches (probably the closest to Thai/Malaysian would be Phu Quoc Island)
Even more different is the Vietnamese personality - far more scams there due to the poverty level. Vietnamese roads are far more dangerous.
