Hello, i'm planning to go in August in Thailand or Malasya, i'd like to go somewhere very far from european culture, particular, cheap and where i can even relax a bit. what do you suggest me? is it the right season?
Coming down to Malaysia during month of August will be a good idea.
Malaysians go to Thailand for "fun!"
Alcohol is cheaper and all sorts of nightlife available in Thailand. Along with beaches, cheap hotels and good transportation.
This part of Asia will be the "rainy" time of the year! However millions of tourists prefer to visit during the off season because hotels are cheaper and can often be booked with a walk-in. For many places in Thailand the rain stops in a short time and sunshine returns. Some days no rain.
If you have enough time you can visit both countries. Rail service goes from the top of Thailand to the bottom, through Malaysia and continues to Singapore. (Compared to Malaysia and Thailand Singapore is not cheap!)
Up to you. Read up on both countries and see what you like. Maybe 22 million tourists will visit Thailand in 2013. Google check will give you info on "what to see and do" in Thailand and Malaysia.
Coming from Europe stay at least 2 weeks. The passport you use determines if you need a visa you pay for or you qualify for a free entry.
August & September is too best month for Malaysia tour.
