How can you say it's definitely worth looking at if you don't know how it works?
I also wonder about a website that wants an email address before it even allows entrance. That stinks to high heaven.

Don't kill the messenger. Look, I don't know how it works, but I think it definitely worth at least keeping it on your radar. All I know is that it's a normal practice for start-ups to collect e-mails before they open public - that way they won't open to an empty street.
Up to you, I just think it might be interesting, and it makes at least me curious.
