Hey people, I'm 26, leaving the UK for Thailand to start my travels around SEA for 6 months then fly to Cairns on a WHV, no set plans as yet just making a list of places I want to visit, any suggestions on where to stay for my first couple of nights in Bangkok would be great, Thanks John
Doesn't so much matter the hotel that you stay at in Bangkok. But I would recommend heading to the Kao San Road area. More specifically, stay at one the of the cheap places on Rambutri Street. If you haven't heard of it before, Kao San is the backpacker area of Bangkok, and while yes, it is crazy touristy, it will have absolutely everything that you could ever need and want to start your travels in the region.
