Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, NM

Hey community! I'm going to Santa Fe for Thanksgiving and I am looking for ideas! New restaurants, things to do, etc. I have been to SF before, but not recently.

Well, I haven't been here for 3 years, but the best restaurants for me are the Plaza Cafe and Maria's New Mexican Kitchen (that's New Mexican, not a new Mexico-style) kitchen.

I bought Maria's Mexican cooking book and have used it for 15 years or so--with positive results every time.

Besides the obvious tour of the Governor's Mansion downtown, the oldest church in America is also downtown--and my wife and I always go shopping not only for jewelry downtown, but also for pottery and sculptures and other New Mexican designed stuff at Jackalope out on Cerrillos Road just a short ways south of downtown. Besides Santa Fe, there are also interesting inner city areas near Albuquerque and in Taos--both places about 1-2 hours away. There is also a tram you can take to the top of Sandia Mountain south of town. Enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to give me so many suggestions. I can't wait to try them all! When I return I will write an article on my blog about my trip.

Can't wait to read your blog after your trip. Here's wishing you a great time in Santa Fe next week.

you can access my blog by googling carefree travel arrangements. Don't click on any links here.

Why not create a new blog entry here? It's as easy as clicking on "Blogs" in the menu bar, and then clicking on "New entry" under the "my blogs" section on the right side of the page.
