How safe to travel in Argentine and Uruguay

How safe is it to tavel to Argentine and Uruguay while being 5 month pregant. Later planning to extend my visa or stay back illegally after giving birth.

I think they are as safe as anywhere these days. I had no problems in either country.

I don't know what the standard of health care is there, though of course millions of women have healthy babies there.

As in any third world country, they take a dim view of people overstaying their visas, so extend your visa if you have to.

LOL, sounds like your trying to get a different citizenship for your child?

Yes, you can say that because I am very passionate about these countries although there are some options open like US and Canada.

I agree with Cyberia. Probably as safe as anywhere these days. Just be aware of your surroundings. If you are anticipating the need for medical coverage my hope is that you acquired some sort of international medical coverage that covers maternity. Good luck and stay safe! The gift of dual-citizenship and cultural variety is one of the best gifts that can be given to any child.

I'm not sure they would agree they are 3rd world countries!

If you are 5 months pregnant I would check your travel insurance (assuming you have it), there are sometimes restrictions with pregnancy and you might find you aren't covered.. especially important if you do plan to have the baby there!
