Hello there
I'm flying into Melbourne on the 24th of January. I plan on staying there until the end of February and then making my way to Sydney (hopefully via Canberra).
I'll be on my own as well, and I'm sure it'll be easy to meet other people in the same boat at hostels and such.
I'm assuming it'd be pretty hard to line up a job from overseas but if you can do it, by all means go for it.
When I get there I'm going straight to the bank to get everything sorted out. Then to the liquor store.
Ha that sounds like a great plan!
Get a job when ur out here it's so much easier and there is heaps of jobs in oz! Good luck
Heyy
Yea it's probably easier to find a job once your there

It is always a better idea to have something lined up BEFORE you go. If you go there without the proper credentials the Australian Government may BAN you for life.
Ok that sounds like scaremongering
Don't worry about meeting people, that will come what ever you decide to do, easy to get a job in the hospitality industry, depends on your budget what you want to do, Melbourne is known for shopping and eateries, good luck
hey
Melbourne is a great place..and melbourne or sydney the best place to find work because everyone wants to head up north in the winter as it is hotter up there.
about making friends i wouldnt worry to much. i travelled with a friend at first and found it harder to make friends because people could see of us. whereas when i did the great ocean road by myself i made lots of new friends. so to some extent think travelling by yourself is the best way!
i am hoping to travel back to australia for my second year visa there may/june time ...just have to wait for visa to get accepted .. fingers crossed!
cheers
