I am going on a Contiki to Europe next year, August 1st, but I want to go to Tomorrowland before it.
I am going to tomorrowland. I might be traveling with one other friend. I am looking for travel buddies as well. Will be leaving from New York and stopping in London for a few days before the festival. Still working out how to get to Belgium, but will figure my travel plans out soon.
Awesome! I might need to spend some time in London (a day or two), depending on my flights, so would be good to look around with people. Might go to a back packers. My sister lives in London, but she is moving elsewhere next year so it has changed all my plans slightly. Are you looking at camping at Tomorrowland? I think you can train to Boom, then catch a bus to the festival.
I have looked into transportation to boom, i can take a train from london to brussels, which would take about 2hrs and 15mins. From brussels i could just catch a connecting train to boom where they have bus shuttles to the festival grounds. Camping would be fun, I think it would really add to the experience. I will have to wait until the packages come out because i hear there are rooms you can rent on the camp grounds. It would be great to explore London with people considering it would be my first time visiting. I can't seem to find a new artist lineup but I'm sure it will be great. I did hear a rumor that Calvin Harris will be there
Wow, you are good That sounds like a good plan. I haven't bought my flights yet, as I am waiting till Tomorrowland goes on sale and if I manage to get tickets. I think I will camp, as I have been to a few festivals (mostly in NZ), but camping (as long as the weather is good) is usually the best place to meet people, and enjoy the festivities. I think there are rooms, but you need someone. to share with - a friend of mine might be keen, but it is up in the air at the moment. They probably won't release the lineup till next year, but Calvin Harris is awesome live. Saw him and Dvid Guetta at Coachella this year, amazing.
Coachella is on my list for 2014. I only get roughly 3 weeks a year off and I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe. I would probably not be able to travel to California this spring. I will make a deal with you, when I go to buy tickets and if they don't sell out before I get them, I will buy extra in case you don't get them. If you do, I would easily be able to resell them or get more of my friends to go. I guess I will be bring my tent to Europe. I camped at firefly festival last summer and ended up making a lot of friends when I got lost trying to find my camp site (guess I did too much partying). On your first post you mentioned that you were going on a contiki, just curious what that is.
I was lucky enough to have won a trip to go to Coachella this year have never been to Europe so it the next place on my list to go to. That is really nice of you Thanks! Yes I was curious about the whole tent thing, its quite heavy to have to fly with. Doesn't leave much suitcase room. But oh well! Where is firefly festival? Too much partying? No such thing. A contiki is this prepaid travel tour company, where everyone is under 30, and you buy a tour, and your food, accomodation etc is all taken care of. And it just takes the thinking out of traveling, and is infamous for the parties, and meeting people from all around the word. www.contiki.com
Firefly is a newer summer music festival in Delaware. There was a pretty good lineup. Killers, jack white, black keys, girl talk, bassnectar, modest mouse, imagine dragons just to name a few. I should of used that site when I planned my last trip to Europe, that would of made planning a lot easier. A New Zealander would say no such thing as too much partying. I partied for 12 hours straight at Oktoberfest with guys from Christchurch. They could really drink.
That does sound like an amazing lineup How big is it? Yes it is pretty popular in NZ and Australia, a rite of passage of sorts. Haha, we do have a massive drinking culture here, some people can't keep up so it is good to find those who can. Where are you from again? New York? I was talking to some friends on the weekend who went to Tomorrowland this year. They said that just going for one day was so incredible it blew their minds and they don't know how people can survive three days of it haha. They also said that they could only get tickets for one day because they just sell out so insanely quickly and our internet here is really slow compared to the rest of the world. I might need to go into work to try and buy them. Or get my sister to in London or something, or you if you are still OK with getting an extra one just in case? What is your name by the way? Oh they also mentioned that there is this amazing package, that if you have the money it is really worth it, where you get your tent, tickets and transport and then some drinks as well, and a plane ride from Barcelona. Barcelona isn't currently planned on my travels so it would be amazing to see, and those tickets don't sell out as fast as the others, and there is a special plane to take you to the festival. So I might consider doing that if I can't get the three day pass.
