should i book a hostel before i leave the uk?

Jordanmr1990 has indicated that this thread is about Perth

There's , so unless there happens to be some special event going on right when you arrive, it's not necessary to book beforehand. That said, you'll be coming straight off a very long flight, and I personally prefer to know exactly where I'm going to in such circumstances, rather than needing to walk back and forth trying to find someplace I like. (In general I find it useful to compare prices and reviews beforehand, but then, I'm nowadays rather picky with where I sleep.)

I did terry but he also doesnt answer the question with one answer

Hi Jordan,

You didn't mention specifically when you will be arriving in Oz, so presuming you are flying out here in the next week, don't worry about booking because it is winter. That being said, Perth has nicer weather than much of the rest of the country right now, so there will still be plenty of cold Melbourne and Sydney visitors. Oh and it's school holidays, too.

Also, if your flight is arriving at any time later than 8pm, I would definitely have a booking organised ahead of time. The taxi trip to the CBD takes about 30minutes and costs $38. Having a bed booked at the end of that journey would be much more favourable than door-knocking the abandoned Perth CBD after a long flight!

I land in Cairns at the end of September, Im booking 5 days in a hostel for when I arrive, Last thing I want after a long flight is to be searching for a place to stay,

Richard

Hi Kellie
I won't actually be in oz till October but I've seen a lot of people are booking in advance which I wasn't going to do but I'm starting to change my mind now. Thanks for the reply.

Richard I'm thinking the same Thing now its a long journey would like to no that I've got a bed waiting for me

Jordan

I'm pretty much gonna agree with everyone else and say book a hostel in advance, I'm at wake up in Sydney which should be pretty awesome!

Yes I think that's my best bet

Cheers Dan
