Thailand & Australia 2014

Hi all!
I am in the beginning stages of planning my trip to Thailand & Australia. Looking at going January or February 2014. Anyone else heading that way around the same time? Or any suggestions on places to go?

I have the exact same plan, a couple of months in SE Asia, then a year in Australia. Will most likely start in Perth then head east.

I've barely made any plans as yet. Was thinking of flying out without any sort of itinerary and just seeing what happens.
