Where after Pike's Peak?

Hi everyone.
Having read some incredibly helpful and informative posts on the North American forum, I am writing to seek advice myself.
Next year we will travel from the UK. "My" bit of the holiday will be doing the Pike's Peak race, my wife's bit of the holiday will be the rest.
I was thinking along the lines of one or two nights in Colorado Springs/Manitou prior to the race and then, the day after the race, driving down to Santa Fe (on the basis of friends' recommendations). Following that we will have around 10/11 nights in which (1) the Grand Canyon and (2) Las Vegas are essentials. Beyond those two is a general wish to get over to the Pacific Highway, though possibly by flying to San Francisco and then driving downwards for a few days (on the good side of the road for the views...).
My real question is this: am I being way over-optimistic in what I believe is achievable? We do not really want every day to be a mad challenge of getting to our destination by sundown and (with the exception of the two essentials) would rather see a bit less, but properly, as opposed to lots, but not very well.
Any guidance from people who know this huge area better than me would be gratefully received.
Thanks!
Sammy

Thanks for posting I really like Pike,s Peak.

10-11 days/nights is fine for traveling from Colorado Springs to Santa Fe (1-2 days) past the southern rim of the Grand Canyon (1 day), into Las Vegas (2-3 days), flying on to San Francisco (just a 90 minute flight), spending time in San Francisco (2 days), time to travel down the coast, first to Monterey/Carmel (1 day), then down the coast highway to Paso Robles or Morro Bay, including a stop at the wineries or else at Hearst Castle on the way (1 day), on to Santa Barbara and into Los Angeles (1 day).

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks very much for such detailed advice - I really appreciate it. I was unsure as to whether I was being over-optimistic and it is good to know that the trip should be do-able. If I can extended it to 13-14 nights to give us 2 night stopovers between SF and LA, I will do so
Thanks again for your guidance, I think that it will be a great trip
Best wishes
Sammy
