Hey,
Katie,
Take a look at They fly URT-KUL. Plug in your departure date and see what they quote.
Any travel shop in Surat Thani can quote you rail or bus option to Hat Yai and then on to KL. Good luck.
You can travel by bus or railway, but it will take you forever
It is recommended to take flight, airasia is actually a budget carrier operated in Malaysia, i think they have daily flight to KL from KohSamui

hey,
i flew from KL to phuket and then headed to koh phangan. on the way back i got a bus from koh phangan to penang (north of malaysia) and it was pretty horrific all squished into a minibus. but it was cheap and i got there in one piece! dunno what it would have been like all the way to KL! stop over in penang, its amazing!!

Thanks guys. I've heard and seen a lot of things about air Asia :S did u find them ok? I think that may be the solution but I was hoping for another option lol x
Katie,
I flew Air Asia from BKK-HAN. OK flight, about what you expect from a discount airline. There is no other flight option that makes sense. It is either Air Asia or go overland. Good luck with your planning Katie.
I've flown with Air Asia several times and have never had a problem with them. Bangkok Airways also fly this route and they're a decent airline but I doubt they will be as cheap.
Becky,
Perhaps the option will be the best choice for Katie. Fly from Samui: USM-KUL. Unless she can get a web promotion fare, it will definitely be more expensive.
Thanks again, I will have a look into both of the flight options and see what sorter prices they are.
Katie
Check out . They fly from Koh Samui (USM) to (SZB). SZB is the old KL Airport and is actually closer to the city centre than the new (KUL).
