Hey there,
Taking the train or bus through the Rockies in winter would be very beautiful, but once you get to Calgary, you might as well fly to Toronto. The Canadian prairies in the winter are cold, flat and barren. It's hard to imagine a more desolate and depressing landscape.
Hi!! I think train journey should be nice option because if you go with bus, afterwards as you said bad road conditions are there, and if you travel with a plan, after that you will reach there in short time. However, if you chooses to go with train, then you can spend some more time with your buddy, and time is not to short or too long.
The train will cost you almost the same as a flight. Edmonton to Toronto (one way) costs about $350-400 per person and takes 2.5 days.
A flight on WestJet will cost the same or less and get you there in 4 hours.
If you're looking for cheap, your only option is the bus. Train travel in Canada is something you do because you like travelling by train, not for cost savings.
Hey guys
I have recently just moved over to Toronto from Ireland for the year. City life though it is not for me. I feel I might as well be at home as I am not experiencing the country. I have decided that from May to August I am going to travel across the country to experience nature and the trails and adventure activities and see the country that I planned on seeing rather than staying in a city.
Thanks a lot
