Hello I am looking to travel East and maybe a little S.Africa in Feb for around 3-4 weeks depending on costs. I want to do a camping overland tour, to see as much as I possible can in that time. I have no idea who to go with. There are so many companies.... Can anybody recommend any companies, bearing in mind I will be on a fairly tight budget of about £1000.

I've recently travelled with G Adventures in Asia - they were really good and offer lots of tours in Africa. Also try Intrepid and Dragoman Overland (I think those 2 might be affiliated). Explore is another well-established adventure tour company.
Unfortunately the company I went through Africa with is no longer in business, otherwise I would have recommended them.

Cant speak for the rest of the E African region but if you consider Northern Circuit Tanzania fear not on that account. Decide what you want then pick out any 5 highly recommended companies on the forum and I can pass on any info I have on them to help you choose.
