Im going to be in Asia and South America next year and thought it would be pretty cool if i could cycle on some parts of my travels, rather than bus it.
It is very good idea to cycle during travelling. I want to try it too. Somewhere in India or another country.
A friend of mine went on a motorcycle tour in Laos, and I also know some guys that toured around Mongolia on motorbikes (they were a Dutch/Belgian group I met on the Trans-Siberian railway). In both cases they arranged their tours through companies that provided the bikes, guides, etc. It seems like a smart way to go.
Or did you mean pedal bike? Bikes are pretty cheap in Asia, unless you want a high-end mountain bike. But bicycle theft is a big problem- keeping it locked is not enough, you need to keep it within sight at all times, or inside the place you're staying. If you buy a 'used' bike, you're buying a stolen bike, most likely.
Yeah i was thinking a pedal bike, but im also a fan of motorbiking around so see what happens.
Was thinking of cycling more in South America than Asia but if i could get a bike fairly easy then i'll cycle anywhere.
Have you checked all sorts of people that have done amazing bicycling trips all over the world. Lots of great information.
Ahh and for motorcycles go
