LONDON

Hey everybody. I´m planning a NYE trip to London from Portugal and i´m seriously thinking about travelling from Porto (not my hometown) to London ( Stansted ) to keep the prices low. The question is that public transportation costs would rise as the flight price would fall. So my question is : Transport (trains, bus, taxi, underground) price differences between Gatwick and Stansted, like if i want to go from one of those to central London(Piccadily) what woul be the price difference?

Taxis in London (and around) are extraordinarily expensive, particularly in contrast in Portugal, and honestly having lived in London almost all my life I avoid them if at all possible. I couldn't tell you exactly how much a taxi from either place to Piccadilly would be but I would imagine that from Gatwick it would definitely be well over £50 and Stansted would be much more than that.

I believe there are trains that run from both to Victoria and I think the price for both would be around £30, but you will have to check this yourself. There is no underground from either.

There are cheap coaches running from both places and I don't think that these will be very expensive at all.

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks. I've Been doing some research And i think there's no significant price diferences between the 2 airports. If anyone can advise me in restaurants and markets near piccadilly it would be great

Soho, just behind Piccadilly, and Old Compton Street have some great restaurants and bars.

When it comes to markets though, the place to go is Borough Market, near London Bridge tube station. It's a Victorian organic food market in a beautiful area. Camden market (nearest tube: Camden Town) is also quite an experience.
