Heading to South East Asia (starting Bangkok) January 9th

SO'Brien has indicated that this thread is about Asia

Hello,

I am in Indonesia. I have a travel plan for Laos in March.

I'd say it's easy to meet people when you're travelling in Indonesia.
Some will be able to speak English and most of them will be happy to teach you some simple Indonesia language.

Happy travel!

Hi O'Brien,

So so jealous.

We left to go travelling around South East Asia last January 19th. We went from Bangkok to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore…would loved to have spent more time in Laos as it was so beautiful and the people so friendly, but we ran out of time. We didn't spend a lot of time in Thailand as we decided to fly to Myanmar instead.

I travelled with my husband, but you meet lots of people along the way and we found it quite easy to join up with others for transport etc as long as you chat to people. As above post - we had help in Indonesia from lots of very welcoming Indonesians. Bahasa Indonesian is a fun and easy language to learn.

There were so many things we wanted to do and we didn't get to do a lot of it, but we had a fantastic time. Good luck.

Here is our blog if you fancy flicking through for anything of interest: http://justinandlynne.travellerspoint.com/co/201/
