Backpack or Suitcase?

I land in sydney on the 10th feb and still don't know wether to take a backpack or suitcase or what to pack!

Backpack all the way - a 70L one will take loads and much better than lugging a suitcase about the place. Having said that, carry no more than you absolutely need - you can buy everything you could ever dream of in Sydney. Yes, yes, Australia is expensive but only because the £ is worth nothing these days against the dollar.

Yeah most people who I've spoke to have said backpack think I might take a smaller backpack aswell for day trips and stuff. Like you say if you need something I can just buy it over there plus I'm not staying in Sydney for long.

Backpack. The only choice is what sort of daypack - integral one that zips to main backpack, or shoulder bag.

rucksack all the way. especially if you will have some walks on not that flat surfaces. And you can't break the wheels of a backpack who doesn't have any.
