Hey guys,
Vietnam has always been my favorite, and this was proven once again on my recent trip in Nov-Dec. No doubt the main reason for my thinking is because the Vietnamese people are much more outgoing that the others I came in contact with on this trip (Bangkok, Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Hanoi).
Honestly, Vientiane did not excite me too much - I think there are more interesting places in Indochina. Luang Prabang was awesome as always, and Hanoi, always my favorite, was super friendly.
My advice would be to start in Vietnam - it's a little more difficult in many ways, but well worth the effort. My preference is for N. Vietnam. You have to remember that I'm on the far side of 60!
