More Long Stay Schengen Questions

db2 has indicated that this thread is about Schengen Visa

Be sure to look into Australian specific bilateral agreements with each country as we (Kiwis) are allowed to stay in most of the Schengen countries for 30 - 90 days each which superceeded the Schengen rule.... (2010-2011 anyway) - might be a help

Thanks Carlywarls,

I guess you mean if you fly into Italy (for example), without a visa, you'll get a 30 -90 day visitor stamp on your passport on entry which 'overrides' having to rely on schengen?

Thing is, how do you get the next visa/stamp when you travel overland to the next country?

I've looked at many of the different ways to get around the Schengen area, and it's impossible to do.
The last thing you want is to get caught, booted and black listed.

Also the 90/180 rule does not mean you can spend 90 in Australia then 180 in Schengen then 90 outside. It's 90 days within a 180 day period.
