I just wondered, it seemed like this forum went through a bit of a slump and has now picked up. Has this been due to Thorntree going down over Christmas and people discovering this site as an alternative?
I expect it is! I hope TT going back online won't lead to an immediate drop down again...
The Thorn Tree has been completely gutted by an unimaginable knee-jerk over reaction by the BBC management. The pre-moderation style of posting that has been implemented in my opinion makes it effectively dead as a usable travel forum now. Sad state of affairs, but time marches on...

I have posted a lot on TT over the past few years. I really liked it. Since they gutted it, not so much. So I looked around at other forums and this is the one I liked the best. So I hope to be able to answer a few questions and read through the site.
They seem to have removed lots of branches like ,cycling, gear, older travellers etc. do they intend to bring these back?
I would think they will bring those back but Your Choice and Women Travellers seem to have been removed permanently. It will be a couple of months before it is clear what the new version will contain and what it looks like.
