I am travelling to Australia the end of August 2013 and in need of travel buddies to fly with and potentially stop with.
Anyone else in the same situation as me?
There's NO need to be so nervous.
Remember that you're going to a country that speaks (almost, haha) the very same language, watches mostly the same movies, listens to mostly the same music, eats mostly the same food, wears mostly the same clothes, etc. Australia has a superb support network for foreign tourists including budget backpackers. It has a long and intricate history and cultural ties with your home country.
In other words Australia is not an exotic or intimidating or difficult destination in the slightest, it's a super easy place to travel and just different enough to be really cool and fun.
Bottom line: Relax and have a gas.

Stephieecee, it's not daring at all. You'll meet LOTS of solo travellers on the road, especially in an easy destination like Australia.
