Malaysia in January

Alexiacamilleri has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

You are right. Many of the island activities are closed during monsoon season.

How many more days you have with you after KL? Islands in Thailand will equally hit with monsoon but there are places in Thailand which you can enjoy during monsoons.

KL also doesn't need 4-5 days. You can visit Malacca (90 minutes drive to south from KL). I highly recommend it. Two days stay is good enough.
Rest of my reply will follow when I know how many days is your vacation.

We will stay from 27Dec till 2nd Jan in Singapore. Then from 2nd till maybe 5th in KL.
I have already been to thailand so if there is nowhere to visit at that time in Malaysia i thought of heading down to vietnam.

Are you from Malaysia?

BDW We have our flight back home on the 22nd Jan

No, I am not from Malaysia but travel there very frequently & have seen almost all of Malaysia. See my profile or visit my blog to know where all I've traveled to.

As I suggested earlier, Malacca is one option to spend a day or two. You'll find it very different from KL. Here's for TP. Rest you can read on my personal blog.

Have you been to southern Thailand? That's a place you can enjoy even during monsoon season. if you want I can suggest few places otherwise Vietnam is also a good option.

Try Langkawi Pulau Payar or Penang Island. You can get cheap flights from KL.If you are in Penang you can try to fly to Banda Aceh Indonesia(tsunami area)and chill out there. It's near to Penang.Great place.I've dive twice there and stayed at Pulauwehresort. You get some cheap flights if you book early.

Yes we have been to Thailand.. Phuket, samui, Phangan, Tao, Krabi, bangkok..
i think we will stay for 3 days in KL and head to Vietnam
is 3 days enough for KL? whats there to do?

Never miss Langkawi.

What;s in Langkawi and how many days do you suggest?

hello Alexiacamilleri
