All great destinations so hard to say which to remove even though this could be a little rushed, you're talking two or three days in each then a day travelling between each. But perfectly doable.
Go from Amsterdam to Paris then on to London, makes more sense.
A quick look on Google and skyscanner suggests most are 3-6 hrs apart by train. Flights make more sense for the ven-pra leg (about $60) and the lon-bar leg. Prices vary so let the flights be the first thing you select and set the schedule from there.
I'd be tempted to leave Barcelona for another time - it's great but out on a limb and this would give you more time, fewer flights to hit, and maybe routing both in and out of London would be your cheapest flights followed by a hop to Venice. Depending where you're coming from.
Oh and look at "the man in seat 61" website for heaps of European rail travel info. It may be that one of the rail passes is useful to you (Eurail/Interrail), but then you'd perhaps alter your destinations list to fit the point-to-point rail options. Good luck!
Awesome! Thanks Andy! The cities in order is definitely still up in the air. Barcelona does seem far out of the way but it is just so appealing to go to that city while I'm younger and my spanish isn't too rusty We were thinking of this new order :
London>Paris>Amsterdam>Berlin>Prague>Rome>Barcelona

Rome is a good addition, I meant to ask why not Rome.
But you lost Venice. To me it's a lot more Wow than Prague or Berlin or Amsterdam, and connects easily if you're doing Rome.
The other thing is, Will this be your only trip to Europe ever? Save some for next time and do the places this time in depth and at an enjoyable pace. But we all travel differently! :-)
Thanks for the reply! That is interesting to hear about Venice. Hmm, I was thinking Berlin/Amsterdam/Prague were a bit similar but I am not too sure which one to nix. And I definitely hope this is not my last trip to Europe! But I start my job in the "real world" right after, so I am kind of scared I will never have as much time to dedicate being there at one time. I really wish I had more! Thanks again for your help
Thanks for all of your feedback. I am really interested in seeing some countryside as well and Rome seems a little far out of the way. Any advice on this route?

Well, I think you should definitely go to Italy as Italy is not only on of the main countries of Europe, but also all you see there - it is just gorgeous. A lot of history and beauty... I would definitely go to Rome - it is such a beautiful city full of ancient history, beauty and of course - we can't forget! - amazing food! About Venice - although I like Rome better than Venice, I have to agree with Andyf : this city is absolutely amazing and WOW, it is a city, where you really feel the magic and really why shouldn't you feel it - a city without cars nowadays is magic! All the water, the bridges and then all the gorgeous buildings... Oh, just amazing!!! In conclusion, I would suggest fitting in Italy into your plan. I would try cutting out Berlin and even maybe London. Although many may disagree with me, Berlin is just a city that in my opinion doesn't really go into the "best of Europe" category. Okay, I have to admit, that I am not a huge fan of Germany in general, but in Berlin you don't see the beauty you see in other cities of Europe as it was totally destroyed during the World War II and is now rebuilt, so there's nothing from the old times, which in Europe is a pretty rare case actually. So now there are just long streets that can go on and on for kilometers and modern dull buildings, that you see in the US every day (okay, they aren't as tall as yours in the US, but still). As for sightseeing, there is this Museum Island, which actually is really interesting if you want to see some very ancient stuff like Ishtar Gate, Nefertiti Bust etc... And then there are the cathedral (which you see them a lot during your travel in Europe) Berlin Dom (which is actually very beautiful), Europa Centre, Berlin Tower and of course: Brandenburg gate - which is like Eiffel Tower in Paris, it is the symbol of Berlin. Although there are a lot of interesting things to do, I don't see a particular reason to head to Berlin if you could fit something better into your plan, because all those things (churches, cathedrals etc) you see everywhere else in Europe as well. The same thing goes with London - it is an amazing place, but if you visit other places in Europe as well, it doesn't stand out SO much or give a big WOW effect.
About Switzerland: you haven't really mentioned any places in particular, so that means you probably haven't decided yet. Switzerland is a very beautiful country - a very expensive, but a very beautiful one. As the beauty of Switzerland is mostly in the nature, not in the cities (although the cities are beautiful and wonderful as well), so I would probably suggest you to do a road trip there, really drive along the countryside (and not use the highway), see the beautiful Alps and the lakes.... And as you wished to see more countryside in general, you should think about maybe even driving in Italy (if you decide to add this country to your plan) - again the nature is amazing!!! You should for sure drive through Florence - I cannot describe its beauty! In general I would say to you: in Europe, every country is different, every country has its own culture and history. Every country has something different to offer you. It is not like Europe is a big country and everything is similar - no, although the places have some similarities, they all are in a way different. So I really recommend you to feel the culture of the countries you visit and from the plan you made so far, for me it seems like a lot of rushing. And you know what - you will just get tired from the traveling, from rushing around - you will spend so much time packing, going to the airport/train station and flying) and you won't enjoy every place so much as you would if you wouldn't rush around so much. Traveling shouldn't be about the amount of countries or places you visit, it should really be about the enjoy you get from traveling - the moments you will always remember.
That is interesting to hear about Berlin! My roommate spent the summer there so she insists that we go And thank you so much for your thoughtful insights and advice. Italy definitely is a wonder and seems a bit more attractive to me than Switzerland, especially if it Switzerland is extraordinarily expensive. Here is my updated proposal!
