One of the newest and (seemingly) nicest hotels to have opened lately is http://www.thebeautiquehotels.com/en-GB/Home-EN.aspx - I don't know if they have an elevator, but I would guess they do. I've never stayed there, but I've eaten at their restaurant and it's quite pleasant.
A friend has stayed at http://www.vinccihoteles.com/eng/Hotels/Portugal/Lisboa/Vincci-Baixa/(lang)/en and quite liked it. It's quite central and, I would guess, has an elevator. On another occasion, she also stayed at http://www.lpboutiquehotel.com/en/ and liked it as well.
Many new hotels are opening in the 'Baixa' (downtown) area - most of them look quite nice. I work in this area, so it's nice seeing the downtown area become more lively.
