My sister and I are backpacking around Europe for a month next year and would love any specific recommendations on where to stay, where to eat, and what to see. Any tips are much appreciated!
Presuming a month means thirty days and you indicate eleven destinations, the answer to 'recommendations on where to stay' is - stay in less destinations!
'tips'
Time to recognise how much time and effort you will take, door to door in unfamiliar surroundings, to have a possible two days and a very few hours in each wherever.
Less is more.
Presumably you will have ample funds to pay for all the transport movement.
Why are you not inclined to use guide books or the web for the many pages of information you are asking for?
Hi
For my taste your itinerary as it stands is some big hits spread pretty widely, could do with lingering in more of eastern Europe as you pass close by. Most of your objectives are expensive cities too. Myself I'd add Prague, Budapest, Krakow, and focus on that area of Europe seeing it in a bit more depth, trim off some of the more isolated stops.
But then I don't know your motivations and interests.
I appreciate the advice. We have already cut back on our destinations and the cities that remain are a must-see. I was looking more for tips regarding things to see, accommodations, and places to eat within the mentioned cities.
If u are travelling around Europe and stopping in Italy u must visit the south in summertime!!
PUGLIA and u could stay in Monopoli.
Check it before plan your trip!
Enjoy Europe ;-)
Great! Thanks Jujube!
I have been traveling for many years and I traveled through many European towns and cities. Whatever town you choose to visit you will not go wrong because the whole Europe is beautiful and unique. My recommendation is to visit Barcelona, London, Paris, Berlin, Italy - Sicily and Ireland. At any time of year you choose to go, you are guaranteed a unique experience, fun and relaxation.
In order to save and make the optimal travel budget, book your flights at the time, look for accommodation through the portals with affordable private accommodation or hostels. Also is good to decide which attractions you would like to visit before the trip, so that you can do online buying tickets in time and thus save time and money.
Thanks TeDave! I appreciate your suggestions! I will definitely take them into consideration
TeDave, Can you please recommend specific restaurants in those cities you would recommend (if you can remember)? We want to eat where the locals do. No tourist trap restaurants. Please and Thanks!
