One month to explore India – practical advice needed!

Hi All,

I guess it all depends on your budget. If you can afford to fly from place to place you'll be able to fit a lot more in. If not then probably best to focus your trip on a few specific places. We were planning a 3 week India trip to combine the golden triangle, Mumbai, Goa and Kerala but after trying to plan transport from place to place it became obvious it would have been just too rushed. We're just doing the golden triangle now and will do South India in an extended trip next year

It's best to focus on an area or two. Go online and take a look at some tour itineraries to get an idea of places to visit. Rail journeys aren't expensive; but they are time consuming. Flights will allow you to cover great distances at reasonable cost. Jet and IndiGo are preferable to Air India. Hiring a car and driver is an option you also should consider. Some hotels and hostels can help make arrangements. Try a mix of transportation ... rail, car, flights, etc. Check my previous posts. Hope this helps.

I am from India. It all rest on your budget. If you can pay to fly from place to place you'll be capable of to visit more places. If not then maybe best to focus on a rare exact places. In India many travel services available and they provide you best facilities , travel guidance , transport also.

Hi,

When it comes to India, the country has plenty to offer in terms of tourist attractions. If you will be touring India in November and december time, then you can always head to Himalayan states to catch the glimpse of beautiful snow-capped mountains. And yes, going to South India is also a great option.

For accommodation, you could easily find good budget options. And for travelling, you can always take overnight buses from one place to another. Also, if your budget allows, you could always go for taxis and flights.

Hi! I'm so excited for you because India is AMAZING! I would fly into Delhi and have two days to explore before going to Agra by train in the morning to see the Taj Mahal. You could probably leave Agra that day but it depends what you want to do really. I would then go to Varanasi to see the river Ganges and then ld recommend jaisalmer and pushkar before flying or getting a train down to Goa for a week or so to relax on the beach. because trust me you will need it! You can get an overnight bus to a place called hampi which is just beautiful and magical! Then end in Kerala!

That will take up a month and be amazing, although you will miss out the north north like Darjeeling etc.

Good luck!
