Hey guys,
Hey how's it going?
Western Australia is awesome and my favourite part of the country. I stayed at Wickham's Retreat in East Perth which is a little more quiet but still only a 15 minute walk to the centre. You get loads of free food, free wifi, free laundry and plenty of things going on. If you want to be closer to the action then generally most hostels in the Northbridge area are good; the nightlife district.
Traveling the West Coast is best done by using your own car and camping equipment. Really the only public transport option is Integrity bus company, which only services 3 buses each way each week. Hostels are also few and far between but you can find a few in certain towns; there's hotels/motels along the way if you have the budget. There's lots of free camping sites of which many have toilets and even free wifi. Caravan parks also offer cheap unpowered sites if you want more facilities.
You should definitely stop off at Cervantes, Jurien Bay, Kalbarri, Shark Bay / Monkey Mia and Coral Bay along the way to Exmouth. I'd also recommend a detour back via Karijini National Park - very beautiful place!
South of Perth, Margret River has some great wine and Albany has some very beautiful surrounding beaches and parks. Worth a visit!
Hope this helps.
O.J.
