My friends and I are travelling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on the 6th of August. I was just wondering where we should stay. We're all in our early 20s and want to stay in a touristy area where there is lots to do and we can meet people travelling like us.
I've just come from chaing Mai to Koh Samui. I am holiday of with my family BUT we stayed in a guesthouse called 'sleep'! It's really good. Not to pricey and they provide you with breakfast - banana pancakes, egg and toast, etc. It's not too far from anywhere either. Tuk Tuks or those big cabs are always around for cheap! The owners of 'sleep' are really friendly and helpful too.

How much per night do you want to spend on this room?
When I was in Chiang Mai I stayed in the Thapae Gate area. But I used a hotel.
If you want a hostel only you may stuck with whatever area it is located in. (More cheap hotels and guest houses available than hostels. Sometimes around the same price too.)
