I recently realized that the place I had stayed at with my 30-something classmates in high school while on a band fieldtrip was a hostel. At the time, it did seem strange to me that we were all huddled in a room with rows of bunkbeds and some random people in there with our group, but didn't think too much about it LOL It was in Las Vegas and apparently the hotel that we had booked was taken by another group, so all we could find was this hostel (don't remember the name). It was nice enough and even had a pool, which a bunch of us foolishly jumped into despite of it being close to freezing weather out I could've saved money on trips years ago if I'd realized I had this option of staying at hostels. Oh, well, now I know for future travels!
